Well, finally!
The triumph of hope over experience!
The first two hours' score bested my 2015 and 2016 scores -- COMBINED!
My CLAIMED-SCORE: 23,424 is the best since 2006.
I never worked anyone in the grid I happened to be in.
I hung in for the last "dead" 90 minutes on Sunday for just one QSO --
which turned out to be a DUPE from hour 2 on Saturday!

I did encounter my first ever badger on Saturday evening.
He was in the middle of the road -- soaking wet from a recent
thunderstorm -- and wouldn't hang around long enough to have his
picture taken.
The Colorado prairie is lush with tall, green grass and festooned
with wild sunflowers from all the recent thunderstorms.
I saw more cattle than ever before. Ranchers ain't dumb.
No hair-raising or teeth-gnashing stories this time. I like that!
