I would like to announce that I have a new beacon in FN31NL on 2304.324 running
slightly high in freq but stable. It is in a test mode running 4w to 2 antennas
that are toggled and identified. This is a temporary fun test with both
antennas utilizing the exact amount of coax at 480' AMSL with one a 10dbd
Alford Slot and the other a 3dbd stacked wheels. So far the Slot is the winner
which is obvious and will become the permanent beacon antenna.
I also have a 5w beacon on 432.320 which has been running for a few years. In
the meantime I intend on replacing the 2ghz wheels with a 222 beacon. It has
become apparent that beacons have great value in assessing band conditions and
personal radio installs. At this time neither beacons are freq locked but I
hope to do that this winter.
All reports are appreciated.

Steve
