Good job Ron. I missed the FN23. The APRS showed some nice colors during the
sprint but I didn't notice any real enhancement - nothing out of the ordinary
was worked. I did work about half of my New England QSO's off the back of the
antenna which suggests things were above normal. But again, nothing unusual was
heard or worked.
My totals were 80 QSO's in 24 grids. The Q total suggests good activity as even
in the sprint heyday I don't know that I ever worked much more than 100 on 432.
West to K8TQK in EM89, South to K4QI (nice to hear Russ on - hadn't worked him
in awhile) in FM06, and the 2 FN43 stations were as far as I heard to the NE. I
did not work FM16 or FM17 which is unusual but I think they had some major
storms last night.
As with the 2M sprint a couple of weeks ago, the band was nice and enhanced the
morning after..... Tnx to the sponsors!

Subject: [VHFcontesting] 432 Sprint results
Was on the whole 4 hours.
Activity seemed fairly good.
Conditions here near sea-level were pretty flat.
No enhancement on any of the beacons.
Was nice to work both FN34 and FN35 this time.
Only worked south as far as FM18/19.
Got KA2LIM in FN12 & N2SLN in FN22 to the west,
but nothing further. I was happy to work an FN23,
and catch my good buddies K1WHS & WA1T in FN43.
Total was 46 QSOs, 17 Grids.
Not bad but I'm not really happy with how my
present 432 homebrew 24 el yagi is performing,
it just seems I should be hearing/working further.
Of course it would have helped if I had time
to get my preamp working, which I did not.
I guess running 500 Watts out with no preamp
kind of made me an alligator, sorry to
those I missed. Thanks to all who
participated and to the sponsors.
I plan to be on Saturday morning
on 1296 for the microwave sprint. GL all.
