  Thanks for your study and proposals, Kevin.  I'll be sending you my log.
I have argued for a distance metric for over 15 years because it would be
more exciting, encourage the "weak signal" in weak signal VHF, and would
level the playing field a little.  I have operate the Stu Perry 160M contest
for years which successfully uses a distance metric with probably about as
many entrants and contacts as in the ARRL VHF tests.  I have argued that the
Europeans have greart enthusiasm for VHF contests at least partly because of
the scoring system.
