Comments:
Wow, that 6 hours went fast! I got started around 2025Z and pulled the
plug at ~0215Z, after not having made a QSO for almost half an hour.
Had to take the antennas down and pack up in the (almost) dark because
my flashlight quit. Having an almost full moon helped!
Weather was pretty good this year. A little on the hot side but it was
dead calm, so no worries about the wind blowing the antennas over. The
wind on my favorite hill always seems to be 10 mph or so greater than
at lower elevations but there was none today. Being in the midst of
the Twin Groves Wind Farm of over 300 wind generators, I noticed most
of them were not turning today. A couple were.
No 6m opening for me in this contest. There were a few little 2m openings. For
the last 5 years my number of QSO's and score in this contest has been right
around the same. I had slightly more points this year because of more QSO's on
2m. Best DX was probably to EN80 on 144 MHz.
It was great to hear so many familiar callsigns. Thanks for the QSO's!
73, Zack W9SZ
