Trying to prepare now for the upcoming August UHF Contest. To that end, I
desperately need to get my FT-817ND and DEMI 222 transverter back from their
loan to Austin Kyser, K0GEM. I've sent numerous e-mails to his QRZ.com
address, and attempted to reach him by phone, Facebook, etc. all to no
avail.
The last e-mail I have from Austin is dated in early May. I loaned him the
gear prior to the January VHF Contest for his rover, and he was transferred
to Kansas by his company on short notice. Unfortunately, we couldn't arrange
to transfer the equipment back before he left.
I also have a 900 Mhz FM radio that belongs to him that we need to "swap",
but I'm reluctant to ship it to his QRZ mailing address without confirmation
that it's current. If anyone is in contact with Austin, can you ask him to
get in touch with me ASAP? I really need to hear from him. My cell phone is
his best bet...205-253-4867.
On a related note, my daughter Samantha graduates from the University of
Alabama on August 6th, which means I may miss the first few hours of the UHF
Contest. For once, I'm not at all disappointed to be missing part of a
contest.
