roving stats
Well if you consider the new tactic since the rule change that 11 teams are
using one person's gear (to inflate one club's overall score and dominate all
three classes of roving) the number of 73 would be adjusted to 63 participants
slightly less than the rule change. Since all these folks mainly use one man's
equipment to work each other and their home club, I really see it as one big
team effort. If that's what the arrl wants to call activity for spectrum
defense and its the operation practice they want to see out there in their
contests then more power to them. I think the ARRL has pushed some of the
rovers who were out there to work everyone down into the limited class so that
they have a better chance to compete.
If we are using numbers to argue a point, look at the years where there is 92
and 83 in big storm years and before the rover controversy was really brought
to light and subsently left to fester. It's kind of like getting on the flight
deck and saying mission acomplished.
Again the only way to settle this is to make the Logs public record. I may not
enter again until that is so. I donb't want to trade barbs for a month, but I
wasn't letting a misrepresentation slide by when the subject was suppose to be
dead on here anyway.
