I don't think I am missing the point. I've been saying and recommending that
all along. My preference is to do weak-signal operating, so I'm mainly
interested in those small slices of the spectrum. But if a lot of people can
put together some 10 GHz (or any other band) megabit/second digital backbone
radios as designed, for example, by Glen N6GN, then that would be great.

As for me, I almost came close to making some skeds for this morning,
getting up at 4:30 AM and driving 45 miles to a hilltop in -8 degree
temperatures to try to work some people because the Hepburn forecast was
very promising. At the last moment I chickened out. I still haven't heard if
the predicted tropo conditions materialized.
