The big day approaches!
Just a few comments in no particular order.
(1) Thirty-one plaques sponsored for far. A few people (you know who you are)
have offered to sponsor a plaque but not done so yet. Time to step up.
Don't find a class you like? We understand that most are taken. How about
something specific for the WNY section or a specific band winner?
(2) As we speak, my evil twin, K2DB, is sending out 25,000 emails to again
remind the world that the NYQP approaches.
(3) N2BEG is working on the plaque selection process. It will be narrowed down
to a few for us to make final choice.
(4) The Certificates are designed and really look sweet. Nope, no previews
allowed.
(5) Our webmaster Scott K2ZS is designing (as we speak) a form to collect all
the mobile activation info.
(6) Have you seen the new FAQ page on NYQP web? Lots of very useful
information. Read it.
(7) A database has been created to generate a letter to all plaque sponsors,
thanking them for their support. Will be sent when we know who won what!
(8) The ARRL did not include us in the contest listings in the latest QST. Duh.
With all the communications with them, they must have Mad Cow disease.
(9) Remember that the Iowa QSO Party is also Saturday, Oct 17, using a 3 letter
County abbreviation. Be sure to work the NYQP. Accept no substitutes!
(10) Don't have a home station? Find someone that does and team up. Or find
someone to mobile with.
(11) The AWA was to operate a station for the NYQP for those radio challenged.
The guy with the key will not be available. We will try to get a substitute in
place.
(12) Mobile stations remember: Use <your call>/M for your logging software to
dupe check correctly.
(13) There will not be an award for working from the most Dunkin Donuts. Sorry.
(14) RARA will have a NYQP presentation tomorrow, Friday. Go heckle K2DB and
N2ZN.
(15) Please, learn your logging software before the contest.
(Finally) There will not be an RDXA meeting before the NYQP. Questions? Use the
newsgroups, but check the posted Rules and FAQ's first.
