The latest issue of DUBUS contained a brief news item about the Central States
VHF Society petitioning the FCC to create a new allocation for US Amateurs that
would allow us access to the 4 Meter band, which is roughly 70.0 to 70.5.
According to the brief, the band allocation might only be a few KHz wide, and
stations within 200km of a TV Channel 4 transmitter might have to run reduced
power. I still think it's a great idea, and hope that the ARRL will quickly add
it's support to this petition.

Has anyone else heard more about this petition?
