It happens that I will be attending a wedding in Stowe, VT, the weekend of
the September VHF QSO Party. Wedding time is 4:30 pm, so I'm trying to
decide if it would be worth the time and effort to get to the top of Mt.
Mansfield for the first couple of hours of the contest.
I was there many years ago during ski season, but would like to know if
there are any issues with operating from up there... room to set up, RF
issues, how long it takes to drive up/down, etc. Also, how rare is that grid
(FN34)?
Operation from Mt. Mansfield would be Saturday only. We'll be driving
home to Cleveland on Sunday, but any rover operation then would be only while
moving, due to no time for radio stops.
