I haven't looked up where you are located in Ohio, but if you live close
to Findlay, drive north (if your south of Findlay) on I-75 till you see
the Marathon Oil tanks and you'll see the Findlay Radio club station
just as you pass by those tanks. They may be a good source to look into
getting active with. I don't know how active they are on the VHF+ bands
for contests.
