building up some DEMI preamps, and all the through-hole 1-6pf ceramic
trimmers seem to be defective (or maybe not?) .. the top plate is
generally a full disc which is partially coated with conductive stuff,
on all three of these trimmers the non-conductive portion cracked into
multiple pieces and fell out as soon as I tried adjusting the cap.
Closer inspection shows that the essential pieces (top and bottom
plate) appear undamaged and the piece that self-destructed is not
electrically important to the functioning of the cap .. is that really
the case?
