You will find that there aren't any current radios made for 222 or 903 that
work in the CW or SSB modes. 222 is pretty much only a ham band for North
America so it's hard convincing the Japense to make them. If it was a world
wide ham band or at least more of the world, like 2 meters then you bet they
would make them.

So basiclly you are stuck with a transverter if you want to work weak signal
and by something "New". As to the ones out there I have put together Demi
transverters on 222 and 903. I have also put together a 2 meter transverter
from Elecraft. From kit form my personal choice is the Elecraft, their build
assembly is much easier, you don't need the ability to solder 100 gauge wire
to the north side of a southbound flee in flight to build it as well as just
a common DVM to align it with! Performance wise they are both on par with
each other with possibly an edge on the Demi side in Receive S/N.

I'd like to get on 222 and 902MHz for contest. I don't seem to be able to
find radios. Are transverters the only option now-a-days? What are good
sources of radio gear for these bands?

Thanks in advance,

Michael - N6MEF
