I have said this once, I have said this five times, the ARRL UHF contest is
the ultimate contest for roving. You can leave those big 6m and 2m
antennas at home, awesome signals are often found on 222 and 432 from the
rovers, and working several hundred km on the uW is much much easier with
10' of feedline perched on top of a hill where the horizon goes on forever.
Also it just a 24 hour contest leaving plenty of family time during the
busy weekend.

Are you sick and tired of rover email ? Me too. You should be a VUAC rep,
its double dipping. So instead of typing emails how about throwing that
FT100 or FT857 in the car and head to your nearest grid corner Saturday
afternoon or Sunday morning with a Cheap Yagi on 432 ? 223.5 FM activity
has been growing .... I have worked several guys on 223.5 using horizontal
polarization. 222 is awesome, and so is 902(3). The new Limited Rover
class is also in play so lets use it. Creative rovers may also be looking
at the new Unlimited Rover class as well ..... isn't that cool, "creative"
and "rover" in the same sentence ?

John, K9JK, has set down the bar for all of us ..... 200 logs or more this
year. Surely across this great country of ours with all of these great
stations we have we can amass 200 logs ! But this will only happen with
two things .... YOU, yes YOU, get on and make some contacts AND you send in
your log. Please remember that paper logs ARE OK as long as you also
include a summary sheet. You can find a summary sheets to download &
print out on the ARRL website. If you can't find them, ask !

Look for W0ZQ/R from EN44, 43, 33, and 34 on Saturday and EN35, 25, 24, and
34 on Sunday. I will have 222 through 10GHz and will be "hanging out" on
0.080 (ex: 222.080, 432.080). I love CW but will reluctantly pick up the
microphone to make the QSO. I even work other rovers, both near and far,
as this is Rovermania !

Get on, have fun, send in your log.

73, Jon
W0ZQ/R
