Hello VHF Contesters,
On July 14th, Dale Clement, AF1T, had a triple bypass operation. This was
NOT expected, and happened after Dale went to the doctor after the urging of
his significant other, Mickie. The operation went well, however, Dale is
still in the ICU today, and had had several transfusions.
The week before this operation, Dale was helping a friend take down an old
60' rusty tower. He had plans to move dozens of heavy concrete bags by
himself for his own tower. (The doctor said this would have killed him!)
If you've been around VHF/UHF/uW for any period of time, you've worked Dale,
and probably for a new grid or state. He's given some the 50th state on
EME and set 10GHz DX records... He is always "there" He is ready to help
and very enthusiastic about anything ham radio.
Recovery will take some time.
If you know Dale, you know that he has very poor eyesight. He is not very
active on email, but Mickie is. Let's let him know we are behind him all
the way!
