Ahh, you were doing great until the all-pervasive political-correctness
pressure kicked in. (GRIN)

Just kidding...

I for one enjoyed reading your comments Les -- not everyone will ever
agree on new tech versus old tech in ANY generation of hams... but
watching how the "up-take" happens slowly over time, is entertaining.

Ham Radio is both the on-air version of an RF mode museum, as well as a
playground for new tech. It's the best of all worlds.

Working in tech, there's nights I want to go home and fire up a
"nostalgic" mode just because I know no one else but hams are really
still using it.

And then other times, I want to play with the "latest and greatest" to
fuel my passion for tech again when the tedium of using "old tech" at
work gets annoying during long hours of troubleshooting.

It's all good. And it's not a competition until contest-day.

You didn't do anything wrong voicing your opinion, other than the fact
that there's an overwhelming feeling in our culture right now that
people should just shut-up and keep to themselves.

(And that's boring. Live life. Have opinions. Learn. Do. Much more
fun.)
