VHF Contesters:
In addition to the Six Meter 1000 QSO Club we have the June Six Meter 250 Grid
Club. Like the QSO Club, this one has 24 members at the moment. Here it is.

The table includes all those entries that logged at least 250 Grids on six,
based on official results from previous contests and claimed scores from the
2008 contest. Claimed scores come from the 3830 archives, last checked on
July 1. It is likely that some of these numbers will change with the official
results, and also some additional stations who have not yet reported their
scores may have worked 250 grids. Nonetheless, this gives us a simple way to
compare 2008 to other years. If I missed anybody, please let me know.
The 250 Grid Club dates way back to the 1987 Contest, which experienced
fantastic conditions on six. However, several other years are also
represented. Five made it in 1992 and, yes, five made it in 2008. The
geographic spread of this club, compared to the 1000 QSO club, is similar,
except that California is represented here and Massachusetts is not.
In 2008, KC4PX claimed the highest claimed number of grids ever worked: 287.
So, by the measures of high QSO and Grid totals, 2008 clearly stacks up as one
of the very best years for six meters.
73, Curt Roseman k9aks
