I don't know who did it, but I know where it happened... roughly. Some hungry
tree in Delaware feasted upon my Par Electronics Stressed Moxon. I knew it was
only a matter of time. It was right at 13' above the ground and I had been
trimming trees with it from FM08, down to FM27. The mast was telescoping but
the lowest I could get it without major re-rigging at every stop was 12'. I
had left it at 13' because the road I intended to travel was pretty wide open,
without any narrow spots, likely to have overhanging trees.
Well, that didn't work out as intended. The GPS in my truck seemed to think
the best route to my stop in FM29, was to take every dinky little road through
the Eastern Shore of MD and DE. Like a fool, I believed it. As a result, the
two arms and the reflector wire are missing and presumed dead.
Because I am at work, I can't pull up the Par web site. Would somebody mind
sending me their phone number so I can order a replacement? That really is a
remarkable antenna. My loop worked for the rest of the contest, but not nearly
as effectively as that moxon.
