On the same note, let's all talk power supplies. I have used many, but
Pyramid seems to be very popular. I have had a couple, and they all used
2N3055's as the finals. However, they are set up in parallel, not well
matched, and if one shorts it dumps full voltage, about 18-20 volts, to the
radios because they didn?t have a crowbar or shutdown circuit. Found that
out the hard way. It was cool how bright the displays on the radios got :)

Nuking = The tendancy for Mirage amplifiers to break into full power
oscillation when presented with an output impedance load of anything other
than 49 to 51 ohms resistive. Owned one once. Never again. WA3TTS
