too?"
Well actually yes. To some degree. I will throw out ICOM here. They have
the 910-h that they sell to us. If ICOM wrote a program that was free to
all and supported a contest they could give away gear. Now I would not give
it to the winner, because all rules are manipulated. IE Rovers who carpet
bag in Texas from California dont need to win Texas's prize. Icom could
give it away randomly like a door prize. After all the winners are likely
well equiped and perhaps if they won a door prize they might pass a lesser
rig off to an elmered ham or club.
This is no different than Callaway giving out free golf clubs at random at
the Master's tourenment. Even if Icom didnt write the program, what to stop
them from sponsering a contest in such a manner? They allready loan or give
stuff to DXpeditions.
The question is how to be organized enough to offer a credible idea to a
sponser? Even if we produce something from the grass roots.
Ps I carpet bag in Idaho, Washington, East Washington and Caliornia at
times.
