Would you like a "killer alternative" to the posting
and reposting of rover schedules that can only be
hoped to be accurate when it comes time for
contesting? If the answer is "yes", then please
consider the HamIM strategy.
HamIM (IM=Instant Messaging via RF) is *simplex* APRS
on 147.585 MHz. It allows real-time tracking of
Rovers as they move (provided they have a HamIM
station on-board, connected to a GPS) *and* it allows
you to engage them in simplex keyboard-to-keyboard
messaging when rovers appear (meaning they are now
within simplex range) on your station map.
See the HamIM link on w2ev.rochesterny.org
There is still time to get HamIM active.
