The Boring Amateur Radio club sponsored plaques for last year's running of
the June VHF contest. You can see the announcement here:
http://mailman.qth.net/pipermail/nwwsvhf/2003-June/002421.html
This awards are for entries from the CN grid field.
And here are the winners for 2003:
High Power Single Op winner: K7RAT (N6TR operator)
Low Power Single Op winner: VE7DXG
Top QRP/portable single-op: N3EG (who was #6 in the country BTW)
Rover award (>= 100 QSOs with >= 4 CN grids): KA7SAG (+ND7V)
KD7QCU/R made enough QSOs for this award, but didn't operate from a
4th CN grid.
Our plaque department (W7EW) is being given this information and he will
start looking for appropriate pieces of granite to carve your plaque out
of. We will ship the plaques to your callbook address unless otherwise
specified. We hope to have these delivered before the June contest comes
up (on June 12th).
Once again, we would like to thank N0JK for his sponsorship of the QRP/
portable plaque. We still don't understand why he did this, since he lives
out in the middle of the country, but after meeting Jon in HC8 last
November, I have come to the conclusion that there are many things about
him that I do not understand.
We are also planning to continue this program in the interest of
encouraging activity during this contest - especially in the rover
category.
