What about http://www.clarc.org/Articles/uhf.htm ? It sure seems to fit
the description of low cost and homebrew. There is no design for 6m on
that page, but I am sure that there are a few low cost homebrew ideas
ofr 6m out there.

I have a pair of 902 antennas from these plans that I will play with in
June.

Enjoy,
Brian
