I heard some activity that could be attributed to meteor bursts but didn't
think anything was out of the normal. I've heard similar behavior in the VHF
Contests before. In particular, last year while I was rovering around Maine,
I constantly heard K8GP in West Virginia rise above the noise level
consistent with meteor burns.

This weekend at Field Day I heard a K9 or an N9 answer one of my CQ's and
give his complete callsign then completely fade into nothing. At the time, I
thought it might have been a 10 second Es opening. But, now that you mention
it, it might have been a meteor burn. Operating location was at the Eaton's
Neck Lighthouse on Long Island, FN30hw.
