John,
I thought I'd step in with some pointers to you and others thinking of
trying WSJT during the contest.
The best thing to do would first go to
http://www.pingjockey.net/cgi-bin/pingtalk and see the two links near the
top - READ THIS and ALSO THIS. This will give you a good start. Using
pingjockey to solicit contacts during the contest is not acceptable but you
could announce your plans ahead of time in the CQ Announcements section.
144.140 is the nationally accepted calling freq for WSJT and you call CQ
with either Up or Down plus the offset so CQU5 would be to transmit on
144.140 and listen on 144.145. The station returning your call will be
listening on 144.145 so you would switch your transmit freq to 144.145 once
you hear someone calling you.

I've only made a couple of contacts via WSJT during the contest but then
again, I've never scheduled for it. Personally, I will have WSJT available
when everything else is dead. I also have JT44 mode for all bands up to
1296. I think this is a better choice for weak signal and use a lower band
for liaison like you would during the 10G contest.
