Now, from you who have experienced these particular forms of atmospheric noise, can you help me identify what I experienced during some thunder storms in the high desert in NV that were accompanied by strong wind that varied from gusty to near continuous? We heard it as a massive and continuous roar, that would be broken by a nearby lightning strike.

The two antennas we were using were a 2-el Yagi and a 40M dipole on 15M.
