I’ve noticed some discussion regarding multiband fan dipoles and those using
inductors mislabeled as traps.
i have such an antenna I’ve not used in years-Alpha Delta DX A which is a two
wire half sloper. One wire is a 1/4 wave on 80, the other leg is for 40 and 160
simulating a 1/4 wave on each band which has a close wound coil on a coil form.
The 40 meter section was about 30 ft and after the coil additional wire to
.resonate it on 160.
What I want to do is just use one wire for 80 and 160. I don’t know the value
of the inductor. Alpha delta doesn’t know either. With roughly 65 ft for 80
could I resonate it on 160 with wire added after the coil? I realize if doable
will likely be narrowband which I don’t care as I use primarily CW or ft8 on
those bands. Inductance of coil and length could be tricky.
