Believe it or not, most of the amplifier manufacturers use ordinary
metallic STAPLES to hold the sheet into a cylindrical shape. The staple,
of course, is spaced quite a ways from the "hot" (in more ways than one
8-) tube anode structure. Seems to work, although it certainly caused my
eyebrow to rise when I first saw that. I think I'd rather use the staple
than depend upon "heat-resistant RTV sealant" to hold the shape, though.
