My group has a large demo hammer from Harbor Freight. It drives very rapidly but is hard to handle for most of us old farts. Starting an 8' rod requires a stepladder. They have a smaller one that's adequate and much more reasonable in size. We use 4' rods for Field Day and hang the hammer from the boom pole on my tractor. We also pull them with the tractor.
