As a reference point, I have the DXE 8 circle, and had occasion recently to replace the center relay box. All of the connectors looked like the day I installed it a few years ago. I used the DXE supplied flooded cable...but like I said, I've never seen dielectric grow. Did the foil shield grow with the dielectric?

I've NEVER experienced what you are describing. There is quite a bit of room inside female connectors, try leaving a 1/4" of center conductor sticking out of the male connector.
