I follow Steve, N6SJ's suggestion all the time because it works!At my previous
QTH I first wrapped each outdoor coax connection with whatever brand of black
vinyl electrical tape I had on hand then carefully covered each connection in
Coax-Seal. 22+ years later when I moved & had to disassemble the yagis on the
tower and wire antennas I had strung up across the yard, every connection
looked as clean and shiny as the day I put it up. Really great stuff.Only
caveat ... if you just apply Coax- Seal and don't cover the connection with
tape first, the PL-259 or whatever connector you are covering, will internally
be dry and electrically as good as it was when you installed it but a gooey
mess to disassemble and virtually unusable without considerable cleaning effort
years later.

Scotch 2228 Moisture Sealing Tape is carried by Lowes and Home Depot
here. You have to stretch the tape as you apply it. Its also 65 mil
thick. 3m Temflex is only 30 mil thick
