I’ve got Master Appliance Ultratorch UT-200si and Ut-100si. They both work
well but temperature control can be an issue. It’s on you to throttle the
butane to keep temperature under control. The 200 has a big tip best for PL
259 shields. The 100 is a much smaller tip and best for your smaller wires and
perhaps the PL 259 center.
I recommend Multicore brand solder if you can find it..60/40. Good solder
makes all the difference.

I have a number of small connectors in the antenna field that require
soldering. These are CinchJones connectors and the wire size being soldered is
#18. No electrical services in the area so I need to purchase either a butane
or Lithium battery solution. Anyone have experiences with either option?
Reviews on various types show mixed results. The temp specs on butane look
really hot, perhaps too hot for small plastic connectors. The lithium pencils
are reportedly too cold for all but the smallest (mass) connectors. Thoughts
from the masses? Dennis, K7FL
