Unfortunately, it's not just the small price he asks for it... it
also requires the current version of Excel and M$ absurd licensing
requirements (annual tribute for Office). I have the previous version
of Office Pro and the current versions of Open Office but he doesn't
support those.
I could also convert them myself in AO, *if* I still had a machine
capable of running DOS <G>.
I'm looking to convert uniform 5/8" or 1/2" elements to 15" center
sections of 5/8" with 7/16" tips (using old Hy-Gain elements). In
addition I'd need 15" center sections of 5/8" with 1/2" tips (missing
some 7/16" tubing) and 6' x 5/8" center sections with 1/2" tips (for
new elements).
None of the departures will be large. The difference in total length
between uniform 1/2" and uniform 5/8" elements varies between 1/4" and
5/8" depending on the element but that's enough to mess things up.

Joe-
The best tool I have found is AutoEZ by AC6LA.
Playing around with taper schedule in it is so easy it's ridiculous.
It's well worth the small price he asks for it.
For a 6 meter beam I don't think you are going to need to be very
concerned with wind survival, as long as you use common sense and don't
try to build an element with, say, 1/2" tubing as your largest diameter
section.
The only caveat I can offer is that NEC 2 engine will not give 100% precise
prediction
for the final length of DE, it will usually need to be tuned to length in
the field.

I think there are stand-alone programs to create a taper schedule, but I
didn’t find one in a quick search.

Does anyone have a pointer to converting the uniform element
lengths to an arbitrary taper schedule?
