While on a contest DXpedition to D4C, I saw that station was using what looked
to be philly but was actually material used to hold very long covers used in
farming (like supporting cheese cloth over large fields in growing tobacco in
CT). Amazingly strong and D4C with all their trade winds, holds towers without
issue. Recall it was nearly a 1/2 inch OD.
Perhaps research in the agricultural areas?
May have come from Italy. Was told it was very inexpensive.
