Visible "conductor are oxidized, stained or tarnished" is bad news, highly suspect remaining moisture within.
Moisture within any feedline is trouble.

Then I test with the TDR function on my AA-230 Zoom antenna analyzer. Normally

I have a length of 1 5/8” air dielectric Heliax. When I cut it to install a
connector, the outside surface of the inner conductor and both inside and outside surfaces of
the outer conductor are oxidized, stained or tarnished. So, is it usable or am I just
wasting my time working on it?
