Mike
Based on the models I have seen I think your observations are very
realistic.
With inverted L's there will be a slight degradation ( 1.5 to 3db) in the
direction the top of the L "points" so to speak. With your asymmetrical
elevated radials there will also be some pattern "distortion" as well. This
maybe compensate or further degrade the pattern in the direction that the L
"points"
If you will send me some X/Y/Z ordinates for all 5 wires for your in 2radial
inverted J I wll be happy to run a model of it. I have a good idea on the "J
" itself but where the radials are under the J is not clear to me

Dave,
Per request. Here was the 160m system here. After initial A/B testing I
then used it a couple years as a 2-element phased array.
Directions NE or SW or OMNI. One vertical *(the one with all the ground
radials) has fallen down now, but I'll probably reinstall it this summer.
I am just using the S.EAST antenna these days. (the antennas are actually
arranged a little more NE-SW or NNE/SSW than my diagram indicates, but for
east of drawing this all inside a horizontal rectangle for you, it's how I
drew it. As a phased array it worked pretty well to EU or the USA.
Please find attached a quick sketch of it.
Let me (us) know how you make out with it.
Thanks !
