I was thinking of either an adapter plate for the bolts existing in my old
TX-455 base or drilling holes in my existing base. With industrial
equipment, I suspect ther holes would be an easy job. With my small tools
drilling three 1 1/2 deep holes might be a job. I assume they would need
to be, for example, at least 18" deep.

Am still thinking about it. Thank you for the help!

Bill,

The Hi Tower base is a hinged T and it mounts to the EARTH with three 1 ¼
“ od tubes that affix to the three insulators.

IMO you need to rent a CORE drill to drill into your exsiting base and
EPOXY the tubes in the holes

I am contemplating buying a Hy-Tower (AV-18HT) but would like to mount it
on an existing concrete pad. This pad held a TX-455 until recently, is in
good shape, and is certainly large enough. Has anyone done something like
this? How to adapt the Hy-Tower base to an existing concrete pad? As
expected, I had no response from MFJ/hy-gain when I sent them the question
and the Hy-Tower product manual is not very helpful.
