The Carolina Windom uses a *voltage balun* not a current balun.
Don't use a current balun or the feedline radiation (above the
"line isolator") and operation on 15 meters will be compromised.

Hi Pete,
You need a 4:1 balun at the feed point and a common-mode choke
to replace what Radioworks call line isolator.
I have had a few Carolina Windoms and the performance and quality
of the balun and line isolator are definitely not the best!! ;-)

I just blew up the line isolation choke on my Carolina Windom - not
good timing right before the IARU test. I have now blown both the
balun and the line isolator on the antenna. The antenna works really
well on 40 and 80 (when it works)
I'm guessing that just about any 1:1 unun of sufficient power rating
will do - or are there special considerations I'm not aware of? Any
recommendations?
