One other idea came to mind which I acted on and that was to buy on e-bay an inexpensive LNB complete with round plastic cap delivered for around $6. I should be getting the dish and feed from directive systems and maybe, just maybe I will get lucky and the plastic cap off the LNB will be a close match to the OD of the DS feed.

Gary appreciate the suggestion. I have not decided on a material yet. I have been acquiring a number of different plastics, all uV stable that I plan to test in the downstairs dungeon RF lab. I will be looking for the IL and to see if the RL of the feed changes with the covering in place. Refraction thru the plastic is another concern but I do not have an easy way to test those effects downstairs.

Or use a different material instead of Teflon.  Something that can be bonded to.73,Gary K9GS -------- Original message --------From: "Richard (Rick) Karlquist" <richard@karlquist.com> Date: 7/9/20  3:06 PM (GMT-06:00) To: Gedas <w8bya@mchsi.com>, towertalk@contesting.com Subject: Re: [TowerTalk] OT: Bonding to Teflon Build a frame for it and hold it to the frame witha clamping scheme, using a gasket to make itwater proof.  You can then glue the frame tothe horn.73Rick N6RKOn 7/9/2020 11:13 AM, Gedas wrote:> Pardon the OT post but we have so many knowledgeable folks here I was > hoping I could get a quick answer.> > This is antenna & RF related so maybe not super far off OT hi-hi.> > I have a 1/16" thick 3"x3" sheet of Teflon that I need to "glue" to the > front of a uW horn antenna to keep water, dirt, bugs, etc out of it.
