A cut piece of structural steel tubing will probably cost more than a
$50 water pipe and not have any protective coating. I would just
purchase the big box store's galvanized pipe and cut it. It is easy
to saw though and it has good corrosion protection. The only downside
is that water pipe is soft steel and bends easily.

Hi,
Looking for a piece of 1.5" galvanized or black pipe 5-6' in length to
mount a vertical. Not having any luck in Las Vegas at Home Depot and
Lowe's. Plumbing supply places only have 10' pieces. Used or new would
appreciate any leads on finding a piece for use here in Las Vegas. New to
town and have tried many scrap yards but they just buy and do not sell to
public.
Tnx
Richard
