Thank you to those that replied.Just finished honing out the mast opening with an engine cylinder honer. The type with the 3 adjustable arms, each with an abrasive stone. Took 5-6 passes and the galvanized mast fits perfectly now. Sprayed some teflon inside the smooth-as-silk mast opening.
