I think the Pelican cases will work fine for Martin.
I was able to find two large Hoffman enclosure boxes that came from
decommissioned solar installations.
I mounted one at my tower base and one at my shack entrance and put lightning
arrestors inside both enclosures.
I’m not sure how often they are available but in AZ there is a lot of solar.
I have also been able to find Surplus Hardigg / Pelican plastic enclosures as
well as Aluminum ones.
They all seem to be weatherproof but it is very dry here and I think Martins
climate would need some type of opening at the bottom to keep condensation down
as referenced in a prior reply.
Some of the units have 19 inch rack mounts and I’ve been tempted to mount my
IC-9700 at the tower base and operate it remotely.
That would eliminate 300 ft of attenuation (it’s 1/2 Andrew hardline). I have
A/C power out there but would need AC cooling for summer.
I have no affiliation with these guys but have picked up more cases than my
wife would like for reasonable prices.
