Before to get or use a balun 1:1 or choke, be sure it offers the required
amount of impedance, and it is located in the frequencies of interest.
Some chokes are centered on high bands, others on low bands, some are low
impedance, some high, etc.
That is easy to check with any cheap VNA.

Asunto: [TowerTalk] TH7-DX balun info -- thanks!
Thanks for all the responses.
I suspected the BN-86 balun would not last when I put
the antenna up so I acquired a DX Engineering balun
as a spare. But, as I was getting ready to replace
the old balun yesterday, I thought I'd better be sure
I had the right replacement.
Anyway, I'm set to go and appreciate all the responses.
