Using aluminum wire is not necessarily bad trade for antenna loading 
coils. Its lighter, so you can make the wire diameter larger for the 
same weight to compensate for the lower conductivity.
 
And you can spot weld it to the aluminum element without any corrosion 
issues.  Overall, I think you could make a more reliable, equal 
performing antenna with aluminum wire and aluminum elements than a mix 
of aluminum and copper.
