Dave ,
The Chushcraft XM240 and the original 40-2CD had a trap coil problem.
Under the heatshrink , the screw conector would develop elotrasiis and loose
conductivity.
An easy Fix but required antenna removal ( IMO)
These A3W traps are as they say a hourse of a different color

Subject: Re: [TowerTalk] Cushcraft/MFJ Traps
Gang,
This why I only ordered parts that did not affect traps when I refurbished my
Cushcraft 2 el 40 three years ago. I merely re-wrapped the original coils from
1982 and they function exactly as before. I also found that the U bolts
supplied for my T2X were not the same diameter as the original and my tower guy
had me buy stainless U bolts locally as replacements.
