I found it was much easier to use some silver solder and a torch to attach the
#4 AWG wire to my ground rods. I have a nice rose tip, heat the rods, put
some silver solder in the connection, and it's solid. It does take some time
to learn the technique, but if you have a small torch, it's much
faster/easier/cheaper to do.
I put in 14 rods around my home here and was done in under 3 hours. Measured
ground resistance is 0.13 Ohms :)
