I live in a city, I won't mention the name (Sunnyvale), where they have a
whole staff of Nazis to harass citizens just like you're experiencing.
Except in my city, they take color pictures, and provide a detailed
description of the offending issues. They also include the applicable
ordinances that the citizen is violating, and provide 2 weeks to comply.
Here, it is usually a "neighbor" who can make an anonymous complaint, but if
a passing official sees something that offends, that person can initiate the
process. If the citizen doesn't comply in the 2 weeks given, the city hires
a contractor at $64/hour to do it for you.
In your case on that corner lot, you might consider parking your utility
vehicles in the garage behind, as well as the items scattered around behind
the house. I don't know if a fence is allowed at the street, but anything
that blocks your neighbor's view will help. If a manufactured fence is not
allowed, then plant a fast growing biological one. I looked up and down your
street, and the dead end orthogonal one, and the lots look fairly tidy. I
suspect one of those folks doesn't like the hardware visible on yours.
Good Luck,
Doug, W6DSR

Charley:
I tried to look at your property via Google Earth but could not see any
antennas. Maybe I was looking at the wrong spot.
It seems to me that the advice given re an attorney is good, but that costs
money. You should probably be happy that the authorities are only worried
about esthetics.
I think you should try to minimize the length of time you are spending with
having a tower down and antennas laying in the yard. Making everything look
as neat as possible with an expeditious take-down and re-do is probably the
most important, and least expensive, thing you can do.
The last thing you want to have happen is for some neighbors or public
officials to start complaining about the towers. The law may be on your
side, but endless fighting is not a very efficient use of your time and/or
money.

Subject: [TowerTalk] Non HOA tower troubles
I live in a community that is NOT an HOA and have several towers none over
50ft and all under fall limits and have had since I bought my home 12 years
ago.
My problem is I , like most amateurs like to build and or try different
antennas and when my tower is down and antenna on the ground ,the police
dept gives me warning letters about unsightly junk or scrap metal in my
yard. Always stating I have ten days to correct this problem and that ten
days is from the time the letter is written hi hi. yes it comes via snail
mail
Yesterday one of the officers told me they have written me a citation
just 3 days after writing the ten day notice Any advice ?
