I acquired an LM470 with a home brew base. Check out a UST crankup
large base- a T of 1/2 x 4 to 8" width A36 steel bar. Depending on the
tower size with 3 or 6 corner 1-1/8" anchor bolts. For the pivot and
hold down, three heavy angles welded to the T tips, inside the 1-1/4"
anchor holes. 3x3x3/8 may be ok for a 354, I'm using 3x3x1/2 for a 470.
Drill the angles to match the leg patterns. Bolt the angles to the
tower and weld the angles to the T. It's a bit tricky to weld stuff
this heavy without getting too much distortion. No amount of hydraulic
press work would get the acquired one square. That (and one structural
concern) is why I am remaking the base that came with the 470. It had 3
holes for 1-1/8 anchors which I think are ok for a 470. Since you need
the tower as a fixture, make the parts and find a good welder with a
truck rig. If this is a long term install then get it hot dip
galvanized. Or 3 coats of Rustoleum, 2 primer plus finish and that will
last 15 years.
Maybe a bit daunting but not rocket science. Around $600. Still a lot
cheaper than a new tower.
All straightforward for a fab shop if you draw it up.
Use the new base as a form to hold the anchors bolts when pouring the
concrete. Make rebar like the original plan.
Of course, this is not PE advice and I doubt a permit is possible
without one and a lot of cost. Caveat emptor.

I have an old Tri-Ex tower Model HM-354 with a TA-54H tilt over accessory.
I'd like to reinstall this tower in a new location and am in need of a
RCB-54HT concrete base mount. I thought that the current production
Tashjian RCB-54LT base might be suitable, so I contacted Tashjian Towers
and Karl informed me that the current concrete base was not suitable and
they no longer support the old model Tri-Ex tower.
Has anyone else faced this situation and found a solution? I'd rather not
"re-invent the wheel" if possible.
