I started to doubt my memory after I read your email, but I believe I was
correct as originally written. A 12" length of wire with a diameter of 250
mils (about #2 AWG) has an inductance of 275 nH. A 12" length of copper
strap 4" wide and 12.5 mils thick (about the same cross-sectional area as
the 250 mil wire) has an inductance of 144 nH, or about half that of the
wire. You can check my math if you want.
